Living Room Mood Board

In the previous post, I showed you the stains David and I were considering for the project. One of the most frustrating aspects of decorating is my lack of fabric and color swatches. I can see it all in my mind, but when I get whatever I have in the room, it isn’t right. I know, I should just invest in a butt load of samples. I’ll get on that AFTER I spend a butt load on decorating. It really hasn’t been that expensive, I’ll break everything down once we’re finished. But, back to the living room. At first, I wanted turquoise (because, as you know, I love turquoise), but then I thought, what about navy? SO I got all excited about navy and then I got over navy -  sort of. So right now, and at David’s request, I am keeping the colors light and happy and turquoise themed.

Here is some of the inspiration art that I would like for the room.

I also want three of these above the sofa.
Here is the furniture we have and are making.

We are modeling our coffee table to look similar to this one from Restoration Hardware.

Right now we have two forest green lazboys that I have slipcovered in white Sure Fit covers. Ultimately, I want to cover the chairs in a slipcover like the one above. Tutorial here.
And for the textiles I’d like to use a quatrefoil design, chevron design, and a Greek key design. The quatrefoil and chevron patterns will be on the pillows and maybe the throws. Or I may just dye the throws a dark turquoise (black dog hair clings to those suckers). And the Greek key pattern will be on the rug.

The chevron pattern I want to use is smaller and wont compete in size with the quatrefoil.
The quatrefoil stencil I picked up at Hobby Lobby is more like three quatrefoil patterns overlapping. It looks good though.

This is a great tutorial on a DIY rug. I love how this rug looks, and am planning on using this design. I just want my rug to be much larger, so I am going to try and sew two of these rugs together and then follow this tutorial.
I hope to get some coral added into the mix as well. Thinking maybe in the artwork? Or more pillows? I’ll figure it out icon smile Living Room Mood Board
